There’s nothing like watching a movie on the big screen – but getting a projector is the next best thing.
However, projectors that supply a proper value for money are difficult to find in India. You can still find dim projectors that cast an 800×480 picture selling for thousands of rupees!
Finding a quality projector was hard enough, but now you have the additional pressure of dodging bogus offerings.
Luckily, you found my post!
I’ve done all the research and trimmed down the list of projectors to just seven. Take full advantage of my list of the best projectors under 20000.
7 Best Projectors Under 20000
BORSSO Earth 8.1(Best Pick)
Egate i9(Best Budget)
Canon Rayo I5(Best Portable)
PLAY Full HD Projector(Best 3D)
WZATCO S2(Best Features)
Egate P513 (Best Screen Size)
Myra Q19(Best Balanced)
If you’re on the lookout for the best projector under 20000 and your primary criterion is picture quality, you can blindly go with the BORSSO Earth 8.1.
The design is a little bulky, but considering that it’s on the lower end of the pricing scale, I can’t complain.
The keystone correction feature is also nothing impressive, supplying only ±15° of correction.
So how is it so highly rated?
The Earth 8.1 provides WiFi connectivity, which, coupled with the built-in software, allows you to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime directly from the device.
The projector supplies best-in-class brightness and picture quality, and these characteristics alone make it worth the buy.
But it does you one better: it supports screen mirroring and can connect with Bluetooth audio devices seamlessly.
The speakers are the clearest and loudest of all products on this list, and if you don’t have a sound system, you can safely skip buying one for the sole purpose of using this projector.
The Android-based operating system does lag once in a while since the projector has a measly 1GB of RAM.
But the lagging isn’t detrimental to the experience, and the stable playback coupled with the first-rate picture quality makes the BORSSO Earth 8.1 one of the best projectors under 20000.
- Screen mirroring feature
- Direct Amazon Prime and Netflix Streaming
- Unbeatable picture quality
- Clear built-in speakers
- Casting does not work with iOS
The Egate i9 offers impressive features for a low cost. It projects a 1080p picture, which is remarkable considering the super low price.
The LED lamp is also built to last, with the company estimating 20 years of flawless operation.
But while the spec sheet is impressive, it does compromise on picture quality and sound.
The 3W built-in speakers are not nearly loud enough to make watching a movie enjoyable.
You will need to use external speakers with the projector using the headphone jack on the left side of the projector since it does not provide Bluetooth connectivity either.
The picture is dimmer than others on this list, and the contrast ratio is 1000:1.
But it sometimes sells for a fourth of competing projectors’ price, making it the best value for money option on this list.
If you’re on a tight budget, there’s no better projector to go for in the under-₹20000 range.
- Long-lasting lamp
- High value for money
- 1080p support at low price
- Indian brand with 1800+ service centers
- Not made for office use and presentations
If you’re looking for a portable projector to take on your camping trip, the Rayo I5 is one of the most impressive projectors under 20000 to consider.
It is ultra-lightweight at 260g, and the neat plain/brushed-metal design makes it look spaceship-like. Full points for design and build!
The resolution of the picture it casts is lower at 1366×768, but the picture is surprisingly bright and colorful, considering the small blueprint of the projector.
It can cast a 62″ screen at a five-meter distance, large enough to keep a small group entertained.
The built-in 1900mAh battery boasts a 120-minute playtime, which means you can catch up on a movie in one charge, or deliver a presentation on the move.
But that’s not even the best part!
It supports screen sharing by iOS and Android devices, which means you don’t need to deal with the hassle of carrying the different cables for connecting to devices.
- Excellent design
- Screen mirroring feature
- Large 62-inch portable screen
- Comes with tripod
- Reduced battery life at high brightness
- Cannot connect Bluetooth headphones
You’d think a high-quality 3D projector is impossible to find in this price range – but PLAY proves us wrong. For enjoying 3D movies, it is the best projector under 20000 rupees.
It boasts a super durable lamp that lasts for 60,000 hours, but that’s not even the best part.
It comes with three 3D glasses and a solid red-blue 3D mode, enabling you and your group of friends or family to enjoy an immersive cinema experience.
Connecting it with your PC, console, or smart device is easy with the HDMI cable – but it lacks WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, making it a less appealing option than its competitors.
Another drawback is the weak speaker on the unit – it does get loud, but the audio is not as enjoyable as the speakers on the WZATCO S2.
However, the compromises are worth it since it offers excellent brightness and picture quality, comparable to Earth 8.1 by BORSSO.
The top-notch 3D feature is the highlight that makes it one of the best projectors under 20000.
- Top-notch 3D feature
- Comes with three 3D glasses
- Long-lasting lamp
- Excellent picture quality
- No wireless connectivity
- Speakers could be better
The WZATCO S2 is the most feature-packed projector you will find under ₹20000.
While the resolution remains 1080p, the projector is nearly 100% color accurate, which, coupled with the maximum screen size of 200 inches, makes for an immerse movie experience.
It also boasts a 5000:1 contrast ratio, ensuring that the picture it casts as vivid and vibrant as expected.
One drawback is that it uses LCD technology and not LED, but the picture quality is good enough to overlook this.
The built-in Android 6.0 system comes with 2GB RAM and 8GB of storage, enabling you to stream directly without needing to connect a PC or other device.
The dual 10W speaker setup is sufficiently loud and handles low ends surprisingly well for a budget projector.
But here’s what I’m most impressed by:
The WZATCO S2 allows you to connect your Bluetooth headphones/sound system to it effortlessly – even some of the best projectors under 20000 do not offer this feature.
The excellent picture quality, ample brightness, easy to use 2.4GHz wireless remote, and the snappy Android interface make it the best home projector under 20000.
- Decent 30,000-hour lamp life
- Android-operated projector
- Red and blue 3D
- ±50° keystone correction (all directions)
- Speakers could be louder
The Egate P513 is the best projector under 20000 to get if your primary criterion is a large projection size. Unlike other projectors under 20000, the P513 can cast a massive 210-inch screen without compromising much on brightness.
The 450 ANSI lumen brightness is sufficient to keep the large display vibrant.
But there are some issues with it that you need to know about, the first being the picture quality. While it does support a 1080p output, it lacks the color you’d expect.
It has a 2000:1 contrast ratio, whereas other projectors in the price range have a 5000:1 contrast ratio. This takes away from the otherwise decent picture quality by making the picture look washed out.
However, if a massive screen is your requirement, a whiter-than-usual picture can be a good thing.
While the low contrast ratio can be viewed as an unexpected plus, I am disappointed about the puny 5W speakers the projector comes with. It doesn’t compliment the projector’s capabilities at all.
Overall, though, the Bluetooth and Android features make up for its pitfalls, and I can easily recommend it if you want a gigantic screen.
- 210″ display
- Excellent brightness
- Android OS for direct streaming
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Flawless screen mirroring
- Weak 5W speakers
- Lower contrast ratio
The Q19 projector from Myra has a balanced set of features – it’s neither too fancy nor too impractical.
The design is fairly basic – it has a brushed-metal style plastic exterior, with the control panel on the bottom left, under the lens.
The bright 5500-lumen output will allow you to enjoy playback in a dimly lit room, but the projector isn’t built for a bright living room.
It drives a 1080p picture natively, and it’s 5000:1 contrast ratio makes for a beautiful picture with deep blacks and bright whites. It also has an impressive assortment of ports and includes an AV port, a VGA port, two USB ports, and two HDMI ports.
You can play files from the USB without much hassle, and the projector also supports playback of 4K files, but you must remember that the picture will remain downscaled at 1080p.
But there are some things to look out for.
The built-in dual speakers are weak, and you will only be able to enjoy their audio at a close distance. Also, the edges of the picture will be out of focus.
But this is an issue with every projector in this price range, making it less of a drawback and more of something to note.
Overall, though, the bright and punchy picture the projector casts make it worth every rupee spent. It is undoubtedly one of the best projectors under 20000.
- 200″ maximum size
- HDMI and VGA cable included
- Minimum projection distance only 5 feet
- 50,000-hour lamp life
- ±15° vertical keystone correction
- No Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity
The Earth 8.1 projector by BORSSO is definitively the best projector under 20000.
Its built-in speakers are the clearest and loudest in the price range. It supports Bluetooth sound systems, enables direct streaming of Netflix and Amazon Prime, and also supports screen mirroring.
The picture quality is second-to-none, and the projector is bright enough to work in a dimly lit room.
If you want to get the most value out of your money, the BORSSO Earth 8.1 is the speaker to go with.
